GILLILAND, Robert (Captain).

Master Mariner of Otaki - Robert passed away peacefully at Palmerston North Hospital in New Zealand on 5th July 2014, following a brief illness, aged 79 years.

Beloved father of Anna and Eve, he will be sadly missed by all his friends and extended family.

Starting as a cadet at sixteen, Robert ended a nearly fifty year career on the seas, retiring as a Captain.

A farewell service for Robert will be held at Harvey’s Chapel, 14 Rangatira Street, Otaki , on Thursday 10 July at 11.00am followed by private cremation.
