Slipped away peacefully at his home, OPIANGO, Porangahau, surrounded by his loving whanau.

Son of the late Whakatere and Taupe Te Kuru. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Waikohu Te Kuru (nee Waaka). Loved brother and brother-in-law of Ahitana (Tom Tom), Keita and Joseph Mataira, Hurihia and Don Te Hiko, Akuhata (Rusty) and Bill Taipana, George Arapata (all deceased) and Ellen Te Kuru, Whetu Marama (Sonny) and Ivy Te Kuru, Mene (Didi) (all deceased) and Puhi Tawhai, Whakatere (Bruce) Te Kuru, Kui and Bill Hart (deceased). Adored father of Alfreda (Bubbles) and Bernie, Turoa and Davina, the late Patricia (Camel) and David Edmonds, Harriet and John, Dinah, Kate, Bruce and the late Teddy, Queen and Max, Ted and Kristy, Marge and Nui, Toby and Jennifer, Tassie, Kim and Pania, Misty, Roly, and Eileen.
Much loved and cherished Papa of all his mokopuna and extended mokopuna.

Topia Turoa will lay in state at Rongomaraeroa Marae, Porangahau from 11:00am today. Topia Turoa’s service will be held Friday 4th December 2009 at 11:00am.
