On 2 September 2009 at Wellington Hospital, in his 70th year.

Dearly loved husband and best friend of Shona and loving father of Judith and "Gilly"; former husband of Rosemary; loved brother of Jennifer & brother-in-law of Murray.
Much respected by his ex-colleagues and pupils at Wellington High School.

A service for John will held at the Cockburn Street Chapel, cnr Cockburn St & Onepu Rd, Kilbirnie on Monday 7th September at 11.30am, thereafter private cremation.
