WILLIAMS, Tavita Ma Wong David

On 3 June 2025, Tavita (David) passed away peacefully at Wellington Hospital, aged 87. Born on 28 January 1938 in Alamagoto, Apia, Samoa.

Beloved husband of the late Eithne. Cherished and loving father of Stephen and Rhonda, Miriama and Steve, Matthew and Donna, and Eoin and Mel. Loving Tama (grandfather) of Eve, Darragh, Joseph, and Patrick. Dearly loved youngest child of the late Palasi Tumaua and Ma Loi Wong and a much-loved brother, uncle, and cousin to his aiga in New Zealand, Samoa, Australia and China.

Tavita’s family is grateful to the staff at Wellington Hospital, Dr. K. Harper and the team at NUHS Broadway, Angela and the Chelsea Club team, and the Nurse Maude staff for their wonderful care and support of Dad especially over the last 18 months.

A Service of Tributes at 10:00am will be followed by a Requiem Mass at 11:00am on Saturday, 7th June at St Patrick’s Church, Childers Terrace, Kilbirnie, Wellington.
