Szakats, Ilona Shirley

Born Wellington 18th of February 1955. Died 4th of September 2021 at home, from cancer.
Ilona, you will be missed dearly by the people whose lives you have touched.

Wife and so much more to Robert Gastaldo-Brac.

Mother to Nadia and Gemma Gastaldo-Brac. Mother in law to Joe Fitzgerald and Nim Sukumar. Grandmother to Finley Gastaldo-Brac. Oldest sister to Ava and Greg Szakats and Sister in law to Vivien Gardner (nee G-B).

Went to Kelburn School, Wellington Girls and then Victoria University, gaining a BA in Education at Karori Teacher Training College. Represented New Zealand at Fencing. Taught in the Wellington area, and for 21 years was a teacher and then Assistant Principal at Paparangi School in Wellington.

Was a great traveller, which is a family tradition.
