Imlach, Mary-Ellen

Passed away peacefully at Mary-Potter Hospice, Newtown, on 21 August 2021 in the company of her devoted partner, Harry.

Daughter of the late Ellen (known as Eileen) Woods Imlach (nee Mathieson) and Ken Stewart Imlach. Beloved sister of Peter. Loved sister-in-law of Linda. Adoring Aunty to her nephew, Corrin and niece, Adelene.

A beautiful soul, kind and caring friend to many, Mary-Ellen cherished her connections with special friends in Aotearoa, Australia and England. Mary-Ellen was proud of her roles in the fashion industry, and teaching students at Wellington Polytechnic and then Massey University.

The family extend special thanks to Dr Anne O’Donnell, the staff at the blood and cancer day ward at Wellington Hospital, and the various teams at the Mary Potter Hospice, who provided Mary-Ellen with such special care in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mary Potter Hospice would be appreciated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions Mary-Ellen’s funeral arrangements will be published when they are known.
