Anderson (nee Chamberlen), Honor Margaret

Passed peacefully after a short illness on 15th April 2021 aged 92 in Wellington, formerly of Woodhaugh, Dunedin.

Beloved mother of Roy (Wellington), Robert (Bob) (Brisbane) and Nigel, and mother-in-law of Vera Atiga-Anderson and Frances McKellar. Formerly, wife of the Late Peter Anthony Anderson and partner of the Late Johnny Johnson. Dearly loved sister of Alison Newson (Budleigh-Salterton, Devon UK). Cherished grandmother of Julia (Wellington), Ali (Warkworth), Lucy (Amherst USA), Oscar and Hugo (Brisbane). Great grandmother of Caleb, Isaiah, and Maaike. 

Honor took delight in nurturing her family, stimulating company, and relishing in her glorious garden. She was highly respected and touched the lives of many through her work running the careers advisory service at the University of Otago, in the Vocational Guidance Service in Dunedin, and as a primary school teacher in Auckland. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, perseverance, and stubborn intellect. 

Special thanks to her dear friends Sally Pannell, Judy Cox, Glennie Jamieson and Jeff Munro, and the RDNS and St John ambulance service who made it possible for her to live in her own home for so long.

A private service will be held on Tuesday 20th April 2021 at 7pm and may be viewed online by clicking on the Livestream link above.

A memorial service is planned for 29th June.
