Walker Leslie Melvin (Les) Passed away suddenly on Thursday 3 August 2006 aged 82 years. Recently of Paraparaumu, formerly of Havelock North and originally from Baildon, Yorkshire, England.

Devoted husband to Betty for more than 58 years, a much loved and cherished husband. Adored Dad and "best mate" of Sue. Loved and respected father in law of Richard. "The best Grandpa in the world" to Yuri and Tereska, whom he adored, indulged and inspired. Loved brother and brother in law to Jack (dec) and Audrey, Irene (dec), Doreen (dec), Doris and John (both dec) and all his nephews and nieces and extended family all back home in England. Respected friend of many, both in New Zealand and overseas.

A spirited and tenacious Yorkshireman to the end.

Les will be farewelled in St Paul's Anglican Church, Kapiti Road, Paraparaumu on Tuesday 8 August 2006 at 2:30pm followed by cremation.
