Frederick John Birnie (also known as Bob by family & friends alike) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday 1st January 2012.

Dearly loved husband of Heather, loved father and father-in-law of David and Paula, loved father of Alan.

Dearly loved Grandad Bob to Taine & Keiran. Loved brother of John, Kathleen, James and Ellen and their families in Canada and Catherine and the McKinley, Miller and Cook families in Scotland.

Friends are invited to attend a Service of Remembrance for Bob, to be held at 1pm at the Guardian Funeral Home Chapel, 6 Norrie Street, North City, Porirua.

This will be followed by Private Cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bob would be appreciated and may be left at the service or donated to Assistance Dogs New Zealand Charitable Trust
