Kane Richard Hughes
Born on 24 September 1974 in Auckland New Zealand
Died unexpectedly from pneumonia on 8 April 2007 in Hong Kong

Beloved only son of Carol and Roland, and brother and brother-in-law of Rebecca
and Lapo.
Adored uncle to Jacopo and Niccolo`.
Treasured grandson of Joan and Owen and the late Elisabeth and the late Roland.
Loved by his aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends in Hong Kong, New Zealand and throughout the world.
Sadly missed by his loving companion and tender caregiver, Jirutchaya ( Dear ).
Will be sorely missed by his special "brother" in Hong Kong, Piotr Wang.
Honoured by his many current colleagues as well as those from his past.
Special thanks to the doctors and caring nurses at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital.
Kane's funeral was held in Hong Kong on April 12 2007 and was followed
by a cremation. A concurrent ceremony was held in his honour in Japan.



KANE'S MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on July 29, 2007 at 2 p.m, at Macleans College in the Te Kanawa House Commons Room. There is a link to a map of the school grounds below.

The family has requested no flowers, however there will be an opportunity to make a donation in Kane's memory at the service. The donations will be used for the purchase of a native tree/memorial garden to be planted in Kane's honour in the Macleans College grounds.
