ELLIOTT Lesley Frances (nee Scott); MNZM
On November 20, 2022, peacefully at Ross Home Dunedin; aged 76 years.

Loved former wife of Gilbert (Gil) and dearly loved mother of Nicholas and partner Eva, Christopher, and the late Sophie. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of David and Anne Scott, Stephen Scott and John and Desley Scott. Loved sister-in-law of Roger and Ngaire Elliott, Kathy and the late Stephen Elliott and Jan and the late Peter Elliott. Loved daughter of the late Eric Scott and Audrey Lumsden, loved aunty of her nieces and nephews. Much loved special friend of Bill and Olwyn O’Brien and Daphne and Grant Patrick.

Following her beloved daughter Sophie’s death, Lesley set up the Sophie Elliott Foundation and she and Bill O’Brien toured New Zealand talking to young people about how to foster healthy relationships with their ‘Loves-Me-Not’ programme. Lesley had also been a long-time nurse and Lactation Consultant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Dunedin Hospital. In 2011 she was awarded the NEXT Woman of the Year Award amongst other awards, and in 2015 the New Zealand Order of Merit. Unfortunately, in recent years Lesley developed Parkinson’s Disease along with dementia. The family would very much like to thank her doctor, Argy Song and all the wonderful nursing staff at Ross Home for their dedicated care of Lesley.

RIP Mum xx.
