Suddenly at home, aged 57 years.

Dearly loved husband and soul-mate of Lia Mapa.

Much loved son of Kuni (Vancouver, Canada) and Kiyo (deceased) Kumekawa.

Dearest nephew to Aunty Amy Koga, Aunty Chizu and Uncle Hiro Uchida (Vancouver, Canada).

Dearest brother and brother-in-law of Michael and Patsy (Connecticut, USA) and Carol and John (Bellingham, USA); beloved uncle to Ian and Cyrus

Much loved son-in-law of Senituli and Siteli Mapa (San Francisco, USA), and favourite cousin, brother-in-law and uncle to all the Mapa and Kumekawa families in USA, Canada and Fiji.

Dearest friend to all at Wellington Badminton Hall, his neighbours, his colleagues at Tertiary Education Commission, the Wellington City Chorus family, and the many other lives he has touched.

Gene’s service will be held on Friday, 10 February at 2pm at Old St Paul’s Church, Mulgrave Street, Wellington.

We hope you will join Lia to celebrate Gene’s life at the service, and afterwards for afternoon tea. This will be followed by a private cremation.
