Smith, Carmen Sylvia (nee Clee), tragically passed away in Wellington, on Monday 9 June as the result of a stroke two weeks prior.

Born in the Wairarapa, Carmen had been actively involved in campaigning for peace, justice and nuclear disarmament for much of her life. She shared this passion with her late husband, Ronald Joseph Smith.

Carmen was the much loved central figure of her family - she leaves behind 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a sister and a large extended family. She will be greatly missed.
