KOOGE, Cornelius Mattheus (Cees) - 2 April 1936 - 16 February 2018.

Passed away peacefully in Napier. Dearly loved youngest child of the late Elisabeth Cornelia Kooge-Homberg & Martinus Mattheus Kooge (Amsterdam & Oamaru). Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Rie & Bill Henkes (Amsterdam & Oamaru), the late Co (Sister Martini) (Amsterdam), John and the late Cor Kooge (Amsterdam & Auckland), the late Louis and Ann Kooge (Amsterdam & Auckland). Much loved uncle of his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend of John McKay since 1959, our gratitude to John for his love, friendship and care of Cees especially in his last years.

Cees was a leading light, mentor and an outstanding friend, much loved by a great number of his community throughout New Zealand.

A farewell service for Cees will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Hill Street, Wellington on Friday 23 February 2018 at 2.00pm.

At Cees's request, he will be interred with his parents in Oamaru.
