Peacefully on April 23, 2017 at Montecillo Veterans Home and Hospital, Dunedin; aged 94 years.

Dearly loved wife of the late George Leonard Lawrence, loved and respected mother and mother-in -law of Judith and Salem, Lorraine, Murray and Beverley. Much loved Grandmother of Samia, Nadia, Tariq, Sophian and Talal; Sara, Anna and Brett; James, Nadine, and Andrea. Loved sister of Donald Horne (Peterborough, UK), Eric Horne (Melbourne, Australia) and the late Lily Bending (UK).

Extra special thanks to the caring, loving team and residents at Montecillo who looked after Mum for 2 years.

A private funeral was held for Verena on Friday May 5.
