Andy passed away suddenly at home on the 17th July 2015 and his life was celebrated on the 24th by family and friends in a service held under the large Leichhardt Tree in the Memorial Gardens, Nerimbera, Rockhampton.

It was a beautiful sunny day and while the service was being conducted a magpie walked over, flew up onto Andy's casket, looked at everyone and participated in the prayer, then flew away. It was amazing thing to happen and only 2.0-3.0 metres away from everyone. You could not help but think that Andy was still up to his old tricks.

The celebration of his life continued that day at Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast.
