Liolis, Joan (nee Gerondis) - Born in Kandila, Greece, 3rd February 1925 and passed away peacefully at Te Hopai Rest Home on 26th October 2014 aged 89.

Loved daughter of the Late Angelos and the Late Konstandina (Greece). Wife of Elias and much loved mother of Panagiotis & Louise, the Late Georgios, Niko & Vee and Dina. Adored Yiayia of Joanna & Vasillis Barbarouses (Greece), Andreas & Gabriel and Elias. Cherished sister of the Late Anastasia & the Late Dimitri Haidakis (Greece), the Late Andrew & Aspasia Gerondis and George & Evdokia Gerondis. Sister in-law of the Late Chrisoula & Dionisis Kolias (Greece), the Late Argerou & the Late Dionisios Glikis (Greece), Sotiris & Chrisoula Liolis, the Late Paraskevas & Erini Liolis and John & Maria Liolis (Greece).

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Te Hopai Rest Home for all their hard work. In lieu of flowers donations to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

A funeral service for Joan will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, "O Evangelismos tis Theotokou" (Annunciation of the Birth giver of God), Hania Street, Mount Victoria, Wellington on Wednesday 29th October 2014 at 11am followed by burial at Makara Cemetery.
