Bennett, Maurice Raymond ‘The Toast Man’ Of Island Bay.

On 6th June 2016 peacefully at home with Carolyn at his side. Aged 59 years.

Dearly loved husband of Carolyn. Loved Dad of Sonya and Julie, father-in-law of Rorie, cherished Grandad of Olivia, Michelle, and Ted.

Loved son of the late Ray and Doreen Bennett.

Loved son-in-law of Kelvin and Janice Loveday.

A loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Mary Potter Hospice PO Box 7442, Newtown, Wellington 6242 would be appreciated and may be left in the Church foyer.

A service for Maurice will be held in St Marks Anglican Church, cnr High Street South and Richmond Road, Carterton on Friday 10th June 2016 at 11:00am, followed by burial at the Clareville Lawn Cemetery.

Carolyn, Sonya and Rorie, Julie and families wish to express their heartfelt thanks to relatives, friends, and neighbours who supported them in various ways during Maurice’s illness and at the time of his passing.

A special thanks to: The Wellington Hospital Cancer Ward, Doctors and staff Mary Potter Hospice and the District Nurses for their care of Maurice; to Rev Jenny Chalmers for her visits and comforting words; to Peter and Jenny Giddens for their compassionate care and support; to the St Mark’s Parish family for their prayerful and practical support; to those who gave donations to Mary Potter Hospice; and to all who travelled from near and far to be with us at this time.

We have been comforted by the lovely personal messages of sympathy, cards, letters, flowers, food, phonecalls, visits, and tributes.

As it may not be possible to thank you all individually please accept this as a personal acknowledgement of our sincere appreciation to each and every one of you.
